Overview
Taking magnificent photographs is creation. You don’t have to be a great photographer to take a great photograph, you will have to be an artist. When you know your perfect angle and when you know the light is good enough, the click is just a spontaneous process that follows. Let us tell you how to be an artist with the camera, let us talk about photography from the best photographers in town. The best part of this course is that it is held only on weekends.

Class timings:
Since the institute offers Part Time courses, the classes are held from 6:30p.m to 8:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. However, guest lectures and seminar will be conducted in the week days in the afternoon. There is an annual holiday too which will be declared in due course.

Evaluation:

The institute believes in ensuring that each candidate is trained in the manner that he or she is geared to take up professional assignments after the completion of the course. Students shall also be evaluated on the basis of their initiative to submit assignments and projects on their own, based on what they have learnt in the classes. Their interaction in the class and participation in discussion and academic activities and their general interest in the course shall help them in their internal evaluation. There will be some marks reserved for attendance also. A student who does not submit any project work or assignments will not be qualified to get the Diploma.

Eligibility
Students who have successfully passed their HSC or equivalent to HSC from a recognized college, are eligible to apply.
Students who have missed their academic year or have taken a drop are also eligible to apply at the institute.
The course is divided into three semesters of four months each. The course will help you learn the basics of photography and will lay the foundation of being a great professional photographer. This course is ideally suited for somebody who is just taking up photography or considering to take up photography in the future as a career. There will be two subjects each semester as classes will be held only for two days in a week. Hence for each semester there will 32 classes of 90 mins each (Eight classes every month for fourth months). Total number of classes in the photography course will be: 128 sessions in total.

Please note that this is a basic photography course and we don't teach niche photography subjects like Fashion Photography, Wildlife Photography, Product Photography,

List of subjects taught:

First semester:

1. Basics of Camera and Camera functions (Theory and Practical): Students will be familiarized with an advanced DSLR Camera and its functions. This class will effectively know the different intricate features of a camera and how to use them. The class will also be taught how to effectively use the camera settings.
2. Principles of Photography (Theory only): In this class the students will be demonstrated the various critical concepts of photography and its reliability for taking good photographs. Concepts such as Depth, Light, Colour, Angles will be taught in this class. This class is purely theory in nature.

Second Semester:

1. Photo Editing (Theory and Practical): Photo Editing is a basic function of photography. Students will be taught how to edit photographs on Adobe Photoshop. Other softwares will also be discussed.
2. Photo and Camera Accessories (Theory and Practical): The students will be taught about lights, meter, different types of lenses (tele, zoom etc), reflectors and all other accessories that are used to click professional pictures. Some of the accessories will be included in live demo while some other will be taught as theory.

Third semester:

1. Indoor Photography (Theory and Practical): The different kinds of photography that are done indoors under artificial light. Under this segment, we will cover aspects such as Fashion Photography, Product photography etc.
2. Outdoor Photography (Theory and Practical): This module will include students going out of the class to learn photography under harsh sunlight, low light, morning light etc.

Guest lectures in Photography: The students will be given an opportunity for guest lectures. These lectures are the prerogative of the management and will only be kept if we get a good response and proper attendance from the students. Only one class might be kept for a subject and it might be kept at any time, in the middle of the course or to replace regular lectures form time-to-time. The subjects that will be included as a bonus and will not be evaluated. We will bring experts to conduct the classes.
